Though neutral, I’m often asked what paint colors I have used in my home. I preface this with the note that each home has different lighting conditions that impact the way a color falls. However, sharing a photo and name of the color below. All Interior Walls + Trim
Cloud Cover by Benjamin Moore
Cloud Cover by Benjamin Moore is the perfect neutral, off white to bring a sense of calm to any space vs. a stark white. I tested many hues and it was truly the one that met in the middle – not too cool, not too warm and works in all of my rooms no matter the light exposure. Perfectly contrasts with a true white trim, too! I utilized the eggshell finish.
Pure White by Sherwin Williams
Pure White by Sherwin Williams is a reliable white for good reason! It pulls right in the middle with no undertones and allows for the trim to really contrast against the walls in a semi-gloss finish. Our ceilings are in a flat finish.
Powder Room
Undersea by Behr
Undersea by Behr is an excellent moody blue that doesn’t pull purple or green! We painted over the tile, so important to note these details if doing so:
- Tile Paint Color: Behr Undersea
- Tile Paint Type: Behr Scuff Defense (2 coats)
- Tile Paint Primer: Behr White Bonding Interior/Exterior Primer (2 coats)

Sitting Room Cabinetry
Blue Spruce by Benjamin Moore
Blue Spruce by Benjamin Moore is such a crisp, timeless true muted slate blue that falls into a blue/green/gray family of muted vs. purple. I tried many, many hues and this fell right in the middle!
Nursery
Cape Blue by Benjamin Moore
Cape Blue by Benjamin Moore turned out to be the best muted, soft blue that falls into the blue-gray family while still maintaining its hue. Greg DIY’d these shelves (full details here) and utilized the Advance line of their paint to hold up on the shelving.
Turned Toddler Room:
Lookout Point by Benjamin Moore
Lookout Point by Benjamin Moore was the perfect subtle blue, bringing a soft contrast to the space as we looked to move from baby nursery to toddler space with low effort.
Office Fireplace
Coastal Fog by Benjamin Moore
I wanted to bring a different hue into the first floor, while keeping it soft. Looking for a muted, taupe with a green undertone hue, Coastal Fog by Benjamin Moore was it!

Kitchen
Multi Colors
Walls:
Our walls are the same as most of our home, Cloud Cover by Benjamin Moore and our trim everywhere and interior doors are Pure White by Sherwin Williams. The beams and other built-ins are color matched to the cabinets – White Duck by Benjamin Moore.
Perimeter Cabinets:
After reviewing many of their samples, I decided to go with their factory finish, in-house branded colors to keep longevity in mind. Of course, we could have gotten a factory finish custom color from another paint brand, but it did not seem to be worth the up charge when I wanted a pretty neutral off-white color. I chose Antique White for the perimeter cabinets (which is within their line of branded colors) and it really is the most perfect neutral that pulls differently in all lighting conditions. If you are looking for an off white cabinet color, this is it. If you would like to color match it, the closest is White Duck by Sherwin Williams. If you are a Benjamin Moore lover, Wind’s Breath is similar, but a little darker.
Island:
As for the island, we went with their line of a Walnut wood for contrast and it is the Colonial Finish, Sable Glaze at 10% sheen. It is a great deep brown with enough grain without being too busy. It doesn’t seem to pull too pink or or purple either! We love the richness it brings and keeps it from being an all white kitchen (which I also love…).
Mudroom
New Providence Navy and Santorini Blue by Benjamin Moore
I wanted a blue on blue tone look, with a muted, soft blue on the walls and a dark contrast of a rich navy on the trim. Benjamin Moore did it again with these two colors!
Playroom
Hidden Gem by BEHR
We DIY’d painted stripes, keeping Cloud Cover by Benjamin Moore on the walls and the stripes in Hidden Gem by BEHR. Hidden Gem is a stunning, blue/green contrast color that brings a vintage feel.
Shed
Swiss Coffee and Gray Mirage by Benjamin Moore
Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore turned out to be the best creamy white, and Gray Mirage by Benjamin Moore was the best soft green/gray that pairs so well with all of our landscaping. You can read all about our Shed Revamp here.
