In the Kitchen: My Favorite Skinny Margaritas

Classic Skinny Margarita

Details

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz silver tequila
  • 1.5 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 5. oz light agave nectar OR simple syrup*
  • Coarse sea salt
  • Lime wedge
  • Ice

*If you’d like to make your own simple syrup, simmer 1/4 cup sugar + 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

Directions

1. Fill glass with ice. If you’d like to salt the rim, use a lime wedge to wet the rim of the glass and dip in salt. 

2. Fill a shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, cointreau and agave nectar or simple syrup. Shake and strain into your glass, cheers!

 

Skinny Paloma

Details

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz reposado tequila
  • Juice of half of a ruby red grapefruit
  • 5. oz light agave nectar OR simple syrup*
  • 75 ml club soda
  • Coarse sea salt
  • Lime wedge
  • Ice

*If you’d like to make your own simple syrup, simmer 1/4 cup sugar + 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

Directions

1. Fill glass with ice. If you’d like to salt the rim, use a lime wedge to wet the rim of the glass and dip in salt. 

2. Fill a shaker with ice. Add tequila, grapefruit juice and agave nectar or simple syrup. Shake and strain into your glass, top with club soda. Squeeze a little lime juice in if desired, cheers!
