As a full-time, remote designer, I spend over 40 hours a week in this space. Therefore, it’s so important to me to feel energized and comfortable each day. I’ve talked about the concept of refreshes before, but knew updating the color palette through the rug and accents would give this space the boost it needed!

New Rugs
If you’re ever itching to refresh, start with the rug! It tells your color story and instantly changes the mood of the space. I partnered with Loloi Rugs to find a beautiful patterned piece at such an affordable price. This is my third Loloi rug in my home and can’t recommend them enough! I also partnered with Boutique Rugs, another favorite rug brand that carries a wide variety of quality rugs at an affordable price. They are my go-to for base layer rugs, especially jute!

Desk Setup
I had no reason to change much of my desk setup. The chair is beyond comfortable for a full day of work, my desk is spacious and holds so much in terms of storage, and I keep it very minimal to maintain a productive environment. I highly recommend all pieces of furniture and decor included in my desk setup!

Alternative Workspace
It was really important to me to have a cozy spot to switch things up, which also doubles as an area for G to easily get ready as his closet is actually in this space, too. In this spot, I switched up the artwork thanks to my friends at Minted. You can shop my favorite pieces from them here. Next, I chose some new pillows to pull in the cool, cozy colors from the rug. The layering helps combat the brick well. Lastly, I ordered another of my favorite accent stool to anchor/complete that little space. It’s great for placing drinks or other random items as I’m over there!

Open Shelving
These shelves have always felt meh to me, so I was so excited to really focus on them – without going crazy. I kept a few staples as storage is top of mind to me. I believe that in an office, it’s a waste to buy a shelf to fill with entirely decorative accents. Utilize boxes, lidded bins, or bowls to stylishly store key items. For me, I keep my camera and supplies, oils, and chargers hidden here. I love to personalize them by incorporating accents that show my personality, too. Armoire Cabinet
As I mentioned, G’s closet is in this space as well. He had my old college dresser here to store additional clothing. Our ceilings are so high, so it only made sense to swap that out for a tall armoire cabinet that can also store other linens and household items. We found a super affordable, quality piece that pulls the entire space together!
